Protect your digital assets with the latest Swiss made hardware wallet
Level up your security with the following features.
Navigating your BitBox02 is made easy using 3 simple gestures. Use tap, slide and hold for password entry and navigating when making a transaction. The unique hold gesture ensures you won't make any accidental transactions.
For peace of mind, backups are made to a microSD card instantly and can be managed from the BitBoxApp.
Use the device in a way that suits you. USB-C plugs directly into your computer and comes with an optional USB-C to USB-A adaptor with cable included.
A secure chip is used for seed protection, brute-force prevention and device password hardening.
Verify on the screen of the device what you are about to confirm, including all transaction details before signing.
Use your BitBox02 as a second factor authentication key for your favourite online accounts. See which websites support U2F here.
We focus our efforts on the top tier coins under active development. Currently, the BitBox02 Multi edition supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and ERC20 tokens. More coins are planned in the future.
The BitBox02 Bitcoin-only edition has limited firmware and only supports Bitcoin. Less code means less attack surface which further improves your security when only storing Bitcoin.
Everything you need to begin your journey.
No. Not even during the initial setup or backup. The onboard microcontroller generates a wallet using a high-quality hardware random number generator to create entropy. The onboard slot for a micro SD card allows offline backup and recovery. There is no need to expose your wallet while typing on a keyboard or displaying recovery information on a screen, leaving it susceptible to theft by key logging, screen captures, and cameras.
Unlike other hardware wallets, you can backup your wallet at anytime and as often as you like. Switch between different wallets in a snap.
We appreciate paranoia. Therefore, additional entropy is added to the two hardware random number generators in three ways. First, in order to remove the need to trust the hardware, we add entropy through random bytes set during the factory installation. Second, in order to remove the need to trust us, the firmware derives entropy from your device password. Third, the BitBoxApp also generates entropy and passes this into the BitBox02 when you create a wallet.
Use plausible deniability. If you enable the optional passphrase feature, you will be prompted to enter a passphrase after entering the BitBox02 password. This option can be used to derive different wallets. Put some change in one to add plausibility.
Warning! Funds deposited to a wallet derived from a passphrase can only be recovered from the backup when enabling the passphrase option and entering the same passphrase text. This is an advanced feature.
