Safely and simply store Ether on your BitBox using the MyEtherWallet integration.

Step 1: Set up your BitBox using the desktop app (if not already done once).

Initialize the BitBox using the quick start instructions. This will generate wallets for both Bitcoin and Ethereum. The same backup on the micro SD card will recover both wallets. Currently, the desktop app only supports sending and receiving Bitcoins. To get started with Ethereum and friends, go to Step 2 below.

Note: If 'Full 2FA' is enabled using the desktop app, Ether can be received but CANNOT be sent. This is also the situation for hidden wallets, where full 2FA is always enabled by default. This will be fixed in the future.

If you already have a BitBox, upgrade to the latest firmware. Your current wallet is now an Ether wallet too!

Remember the password!

Step 2: Open MyEtherWallet in a Chrome or Opera browser

The MyEtherWallet app provides a graphical interface for using Ethereum with the BitBox. For Ethereum and ERC20 tokens, check that 'ETH' is selected in the menu at the top of the page. Or select ETC for Ethereum Classic.

Browser support: Chrome and Opera browsers work without modification. Firefox or Safari work if a browser extension for Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) devices is installed.

Step 3: receive and send coins

To get an address to receive coins, select the 'Digital Bitbox' option in the 'View Wallet Info' section. Enter the device password and press the connect button. A list of addresses will be displayed. If you are not sure which address to select, just choose the first address.

To create and send a transaction, select the 'Digital Bitbox' option in the 'Send Ether & Tokens' section. Enter the device password and press the connect button. Select a sending address and follow the instructions. A transaction will be generated and signed but not yet sent to the network. Scroll down and press the button to send the transaction.

* Do NOT generate a new wallet on MyEtherWallet. The 'Generate Wallet' section does NOT create a wallet on your BitBox, and coins sent there will NOT be saved on your BitBox.
